In May, I got called out for my bullshit of fearing. I was without one of my many hoodies and it was chilly.

Annie looks at me and asks, “Where is your hoodie? You’re the Hoodie Queen!'“

I got quiet.

Me: I didn’t pack any. I didn’t think I would need them.

Annie: But Gayima… what about the Perseverance hoodie… the No Wahala… something. I mean, you own a whole clothing line, Sis.

Me: Deep breath.

The fact of the matter is, sometimes I feel like my ideas suck. I delay in releasing items that I know at least 20 other people in this world will appreciate. Over the years, I have second-guessed releasing a design or hesitated to heavily market an original. Years later, a version of my original production or idea is being mass-produced and a call from a friend comes in to let me know about it.

Dead Ass.

The Lesson: Self-Doubt is a waste of time. Get out of your way.

Chances are, you will release an item and it won’t become the new ‘hit item’.

That’s okay.

Release it anyway. You will likely learn a lot, and hopefully, you will have the courage to keep going and get better with each release.
